What is the academic programme of the French Summer School?
The programme consists of 6 weeks of high-quality teaching, integration, and discovery, during which you will study French language and French culture classes.
This programme includes a total of 70 hours of courses broken down into the following courses :
Credit transfer for courses taken at the Summer School depends on the policies of the student's home institution.
Course syllabi are currently being finalised and will be available online soon.

- French as a foreign language - 5 credits, 35 hours
A complete French course available for two different levels: B1 (Intermediate) and B2+ (Advanced) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
Students take a placement test on arrival at Lyon 3 and are placed in the appropriate level group.
Evaluation for the course comprises continuous assessment and a final exam.
- French History and Culture - 5 credits, 35 hours
The aim is to provide a panorama of French culture both in its more formal and its more popular aspects. A special effort will be made to link the course content to the students¡¯ presence in Lyon/Rh?ne-Alpes region, thus providing an ¡°applied culture¡± dimension to the course.

Who is eligible to apply?
Our programme is exclusively open to:
- University Students: Applicants must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a recognized university.
- French Speakers with a Minimum B1 Level: A solid intermediate proficiency in French (level B1) is required to ensure active participation in classes and activities.
- Individuals Aged 18 or Older: Participants must be at least 18 years old at the start of the programme.
What is the attendance policy for the programme?
Students must be present in Lyon for the entire duration of the programme. A maximum of 2 (two) unexcused absences will be allowed, otherwise no mark will be given. An unexcused absence from the final examination means that no credit will be awarded for the course.
When will the French Summer School 2025 take place?
From June 9 to July 18, 2025.
Lifestyle & Living Environment
The university programme will take place on the Lyon 澳门银河的网站多少 of Jean Moulin 3. Housed in a former tobacco factory built in 1899, this 澳门银河的网站多少 is a model of architectural rehabilitation. It combines the industrial charm of red bricks and interior courtyards with modern infrastructures suitable for teaching.
Students will be accommodated in a partner student residence, located near Jean Moulin University Lyon 3.
